Exciting News About 2017
Hey everyone. Today, Wednesday Dec. 7, 2016 I had a very good conversation with Garry Sims of Hope Aglow Prison Ministry based out of Lynchburg VA. For many years we have desired to work closely with a dedicated and proven prison ministry and we are super stoked to be connecting with Hope Aglow starting in 2017.. They are active in one way or another in prisons in all 50 states....Acts 26:18 Ministries will be collecting cash and Books and Bibles for them at the first, as well as periodically preaching in Prisons in certain states to be disclosed at a later date.. I will keep you all updated as to our distribution efforts. Right now we have over 350 books and Bibles that I (Len) will be taking to VA in early 2017.. By the time we go to distribute that number will be much higher and I am very busy right now putting a collection team together.. You can email me for details if you think you may want to be on a team....
There are also 3 other prison ministries we will be trying to make connection with during the upcoming year.. This is our new project addition for 2017. Of Course we will continue to keep up with most of the projects we launched in 2016 with the top one being the TRO camp.. I personally hope to surpass 2016 giving to the camp in 2017... We also support Perry Stone Ministries in a larger way. We will continue to preach revivals and we are booking dates right now so get with me if you want to book a meeting.. In 2017, we will be expanding our broadcast media outreaches too... New sermons, interviews, and guest speakers in addition to my own messages........
I will do my best to keep updating each of our several project areas.... Please pray about faithfully sowing into this ministry as my partner...In early January several more announcements will be shared here on the connect site... Together we can reach farther in 2017!!
Here is a nugget as I close this brief update: One of the blights of the modern church is MacDonald faith; Microwave Instant blessings... We often want what we want and we want it now.... I've learned through the years that seldom does God operate like that... Oh He can, and sometimes He Does. But often there is a growth process called Wait: I have had to wait and tarry in prayer for the salvation of souls in the meetings (I have no idea how many through the years but over a thousand in the past 3 years, Ah Practice.) I have sometimes had to tarry and wait in His presence for my own personal needs.... Generally I ask no one but the Lord... And He has never let me down!! Waiting on God may be the hardest thing in the world sometimes, but if you think about it, He's the only one worth waiting on. Trust Him. It'll be worth your wait........
The Lord will never let you down....
Much Love,
Len

FB Highlights from the past week.-- New Radio Shows Coming
Many are asking me if God has been talking to me about events taking
place in our country and around the world at this time... it's always a
challenge to shut out the voices of the many in order to hear the Lords
still small voice.. for the past week I have been about doing just that
and yes, I believe God has put a strong word within me. In praying about
this I believe I am to release these words on a live radio program so
we will be continuing in prayer, putting these together
for the next few days.. I can tell you this at this time: Don't abandon
your post of intercession, the cultural war is far from over.. The
globalist will not just disappear.. This is the clash of light vs
darkness... secondly, We are nearer to the return of Jesus than we dare
realize... before He comes, perilous times will arise and you need to be
in the house of God, the Word of God, under the Blood and in fasting
and prayer.. God has given me many more things and so keep watching for
the live program announcements.. Also, a huge thanks to those who have
followed the ministry, linked us to their sites and shares our
material... next year I pray to do projects with those people.. God
bless!!!
I thank God everyday for believers who refuse to close their eyes to the truth because it's "too painful" for them to endure. Whatever happened to Holy stamina? Blessings to you all.. you are very important to Angie and myself.. the Lord showed us a few things about some folks this week and I am glad He did. Those who turn on you at the drop of a hat only serve to free up previously spoken for ministry funds to sow into projects that put the Kingdom ahead of personal agendas... thanks for hanging with us.. God has great things ahead even in the midst of chaos..
Things are not going to get better and better in this world.... read your Bible folks! It's up to you to resist fear not demand that Gods messengers shut up!! It's up to you to stand in the evil day. God will empower you..
There is a godly fear that will move men toward repentance.. the real cause of ungodly fear is the fact that many have perverted the true Gospel and turned it into a message of comfort and ease... people expect the Christian life to be easy under self promoting theology.. God never promised anyone easy!!
I really need those pure of heart to continue to stand with us because some of what I have to say I really do not want to. It will be difficult.. I am going to rally those who show they believe in our vision and truly understand the seriousness of our times and deepen connections with them in 2017.. The all in........ I love all believers but as there is only so much of me to go around I must select carefully those I can count on and those with whom to share my heart. The Lord talked with me about this before He gave me some words to speak and 2 dreams I have had just this week..
My friends, stay on the wall!! Keep praying against the attacks of the enemy that are coming rapidly.... Pray that the recounts are not tampered with because if they are not they will go for Trump!! Pray that the corruption of the left will be exposed.. And above all else, pray that revival will fall and sweep millions into repentance and the Kingdom of God!! Jesus is coming soon.. Don't give up the fight!!!

October Nuggets From My Facebook Page
theopneustos: Greek for God breathed... Every Word from His mouth is
the sustenance that keeps us alive; keeps us running toward the God
sized dream placed with us... He tells us live ; but die first! Because a
life lived in Him can never die... Self is the dream blocker; the enemy
of Life.. The curtains rise and the curtains fall but He is the Grace
behind it all... There is no reason to play it safe when the power of
safe is out there on the water... C'mon friends lets get out of our
boats together and....... run to meet Him....( From message one in my
series on Mark's book: Chase The Lion) Please enjoy the Lion Chaser
Manifesto by Mark Batterson I am posting.... remember: Get out of the
boat, Claim that mountain, Run to The roar, and Chase that Lion.......
Often you will find Faithfulness is spelled R. I. S. K.... God moves when the odds are against you.. Dare to dream and watch God paint His purposes on the canvass of your heart.. I resolved a long time ago to quit living like I have forever.... Throw caution to the wind and let God do mighty exploits in and through me today!! What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail has become more than a cliche with me. It's Gods story being written in me.. Run to the roar; fight for the dream until your sword freezes to your hand, with the word , defend the ground He has given you : and advance at His leading!! Risk when God is in it always pays off by putting you in the center of His Will. ... #ChaseTheLion. (from my second message based on Mark Battersons new book: Chase The Lion.)
God has always desired to gather people who would give themselves wholeheartedly to Him , be His Witnesses, and Proclaim His message.." (Ed Stetzer) .. The message is Repentance of sin and Forgiveness of Christ for our sins.... Anytime it becomes something other than repentance and forgiveness , then the Gospel is lost in the process of doing church.. The Local Church is a releasing agent, every member participating in one common goal; a gospel saturated people taking the good news to the world through a variety of tools..... #ChurchWorks
When Missionary John Paxton (a cousin from my direct line) landed in the New Hebrides in the 1800's he began translating the New Testament for the inhabitants. He was somewhat perplexed on how to communicate the concept of 'Believe' to them due to the language barrier. So one day he leaned back on a chair and saw that that simple act-- is one concept of believe.. To Place Your Entire weight upon something! He did not use a broken down chair but one that was strong and sturdy... Why? The answer is obvious. The object of your faith (believing) is very important... Friends, as Christians we do not serve a decrepit savior but One who is strong and Sturdy.. One who has defeated every power of Hell at the Cross.. As we put all our weight on Him He will hold us up in the storms of our lives.... (An expert from an upcoming book)
For 2000 years the Gospel has been about Jesus and His great love for the human race. Man has made an idol out of his basest needs and desires.. Those traits inherited at the fall are often still in the drivers seats even after professing Christ for years down the road.. Why ? Because we don't easily see what the Gospel actually teaches is a death to 'self'.. The Gospel is not a way to improve self and gain it legitimacy.. Jesus sets us free from the fall and its tangled vines of bondage.. This is one reason I believe in give to give instead of give to get.. (and I could touch on 10,000 other issues) ... I encourage you today to put away your idols.. I can encourage you to do it but God demands that you do it. Serve only the real Jesus of the Bible. Reject those who have exploited and made merchandise of you… Cling to the cross with every fiber of your being.. Run to the cross… Jesus, The real Jesus, will meet you there.
God doesn't come to take sides in your squabbles: He comes to take over!! Joshua 5:12-14
Most who claim to have great discernment really mean they have the gift of a critical spirit..
Making the most of every precious moment of life on earth.. LIFE IS SHORT BUT ETERNITY IS LONG……Love someone today who is unlovable.. Take the time to enjoy the mountains, lakes, forests, rivers, and cities… Smell the roses so to speak… Every rose has a thorn but they sure smell sweet and are beautiful. So is life in Jesus Christ. I want to make doubly certain that Jesus receives ALL the glory for anything accomplished in and through my short life here on earth. Everyday, going to the cross to lay down to the death any ego, pride, self, etc… that could possibly rob Him of His glory.
Good morning from Lynchburg friends!! While taking time to gather my thoughts from the wonderful impartation of yesterday I feel the Lord saying to me: "Make every moment count for souls". Sometimes it's something simple like a smile , a Word in season, or helping to meet a physical need. Other times it may be preaching a difficult message but one God wants to use to transform someone. Or it may just be behaving myself in a Godly, Christlike way because the world is watching!! Whatever the situation requires; help me today Lord to slow down and Hear From You.. Here is something Pastor Jonathan Falwell said , "living life in a whirlwind rarely leads to accomplishment".. Have a great day my friends!! Jesus is coming soon.. Keep looking up!!!

We were totally blown away by this young ladies powerful vocals and the presence of the Holy Spirit on her music.
We pray that this song will bless you as you worship.
You will be hearing alot more from Maria Gilpin in the future I am sure.. Please worship our great Jesus as you listen to this.
In my humble opinion, this is the best new EP this year in genre.

Faith places greater value on pleasing God than gaining the approval of friends, family, or peers.
Faith will keep you doing what God calls you to do at the risk of the loss of all things! Rewards out weigh risks in the Kingdom..
Don't allow those not achieving to keep you from living your God idea!#ChaseTheLion
Just be concerned about what u r doing and don't worry about what Gods called another to do. They probably won't look just like you!!!
I am absolutely ready to run to the finish line. With many or few I am determined to finish strong.
Never quit ; if it costs you everything and everyone Finish your race strong.. Please God! He is who you need above all!!
When people envy what God has deposited in you they will not back your vision!! Good news is: u don't need their backing- u need Gods!!!

The above, plus all the links we share are among our top tweets of late... God has been speaking to me the word "Freedom": over and over again.... Some need to be free from addiction, habits, or other forms of sin..... Others need to be free from dependance on the approval of Kinfolk, some need to be free from mistakes of the past...... etc... etc.....
We are coming into a time where God is going to be setting many free from the things that have them bound.... The only way you can go forward in a world that is going backwards is to walk in the ways of God! Walk by faith and not by sight. Even though it seems that the way of faith is the “hard way,” it is the way to victory! Even though standing in faith takes longer sometimes, it is God’s way. It will have lasting rewards! CHOOSE THE WAY OF FAITH!
The Lord has told me to "Preach Deliverance to the captives"....
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
No One can define You but God... No one can tell you what He has put in you but Him... etc.. etc..
The essence of the Gospel is a changed life that comes from a Christ transformed heart.. ( 2 Cor. 5:17). From that heart will flow faith, obedience, holiness, love, joy, prayer, etc... All the elements necessary to maintain our growing relationship with God. Supplied and equipped by His Spirit we reach out to all the potential He has for us..
In order to gauge our spiritual growth we must ask ourselves but one question: How much does my life resemble Jesus Christ.? We all fall short but the more we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, the more He conforms us in word , thought, and deed to the image of Christ. The true measure; the standard, is not other Christians or a particular church.. It is Jesus Christ!!.

September Nuggets From My FaceBook..
As the intensity heats up and things look impossible in your life, you
may not see it but you're close to your victory. In the Lions den, 12
inches away from the lions , came the sweetest sleep of the Prophets
life... Don't give up. Never Lose Hope.. This may be the day God says
Yes to the breakthrough of your life!!
The reason most atheists do not find God is the same reason most thieves do not find a police officer; they are not looking for Him! As our society becomes increasingly secular, more and more Americans have never heard the Gospel. This is the reason that we as the church must not major on motivational, self help messages... there is no eternal help in self... We must give this generation the Gospel of Jesus Christ... That He died to save them from their problem.. And their problem is not low self esteem, it is Sin...
Faith seldom plays it safe.. The Rock on which faith rests is Christ; the hinge on which faith swings is the Word of God! Obedience to the Word is the action of Faith.. In His presence is fullness of Joy and His presence is the result of active faith reaching out from a trembling heart.
If your heart is to make His name great, you will not be threatened by any other ministry because you understand that we are all on the same team. We’re part of each other. But if someone is ugly to you and you suspect jealousy, pray for them. If it’s within your power, try to heal the conflict, but if not, lay it at the Lord’s feet and don’t let it become a distraction to you. Do not stay at a low level because others are not where they want to be..Many in their search for their own significance try and take what God hasn't given them yet... All of this is Flesh and self.... This isn't about self glory; its about making HIS Name famous... (Len in his message Wednesday...) (these new messages came after an extended time of prayer and fasting and Holy Spirit is pulling no punches..)
Every single thing we receive from God we receive through faith.. As Dr Sumrall said in one of his lessons, "If I am willing to do the ridiculous (according to the world), then God is ready to do the supernatural!".... If you are concerned about what you look like to others God won't be able to freely flow supernatural blessing through you and out to others!!
The safest place for a believer to be right now is in the center of Gods will! How do we get there? By taking one step of obedience at a time; doing the things plainly revealed to us in the Word, and listening for the still small voice.. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way!" Psalm 37:23..... A fruitful journey is not merely accomplishment but peace and delight in Him!!
The Lord will turn our tests into testimonies!! You have heard that right? The older I get and the farther I go I am convinced He begins to do this when we come before Him with the "sacrifice of praise". So today, whatever we are facing and going through; don't focus on the problem ... See Him!! In all of His glory and power and praise Him for saving your soul.. Count your blessings and praise Him for His goodness to you.. Praise will raise!! He will lift you up drawing you close and your troubles will seem o so small.. Love you friends!! PRAISE THE LORD!!

New Series on Community coming soon...
Len has been preparing a new series this week on the 3 sets of gifts listed in the New Testament... Rom.12, 1 Cor 12, and Eph 4.. The context of verses and even chapters surrounding those gifts, All of them, is their relationship to the body..None of the giftings are created or intended to function on an individual basis alone but in harmony with other gifts also... Also, stressing the importance Scripture places on community, are what we will term the "One Another" commandments....Love one another, forgive one another, etc.... None of which can be accomplished in isolation... An article we linked in this post will shed further light on the concept.. The first 10 people who message me will be placed on a list to receive this series on CD before it hits the store or online markets.... We want to sow these important messages into as many lives as we can....
As Dr Lester Sumrall said, "You can't make good love over the telephone you have to be there in person." How true that is..
Click Here is a very good article to lend insight into this all important topic.
We are one body with many members each created for the glory of God as opposed to the advancement of self.. This new series is going to open this up in a way that will bless your life.. We have to learn, God wants us to brush up against those who even offend us, in order that we may learn true Christ like character and also as an agent in the putting to death of our flesh; old man; and self absorbed life that we had before we got saved.. All to often we carry too much of it over into our saved walk with the Lord.... Please be sure to request your copy of this series today.... It should be ready in 6-8 weeks....
.Remember we don't need to feel released to do what God has already told us to do in His word; we have simply to obey......

An Amazing weekend in Winona Lake and Wolcott Indiana
Took some pics and made some great tv at the Billy Sunday historical
center in Winona Lake Indiana.. I talked about the ONLY hope for
America.. THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.. We also prayed for revival with the
curator and several Grace College and seminary students. It was a
tremendous honor to be there in the home area of one of America's
legendary evangelists.
I was also able to make a clip in the area of the Historical museum outside on a beautiful Indiana day.
Bear your cross while you wait for your crown... Tell the world of the treasure you've found!!
Here is what I believe God is saying to me at this point as He has led me into this, "If we really want to love God supremely in this present culture and age then we must prepare to suffer greatly. " why, because love , real love for God goes against what the culture and the world loves and values!! I believe GK Chesterson was right when he said; "It is the paradox of history that each generation is converted by the saints who contradict it most"!! What we need in our pulpits once again are prophets; not celebrities!! I am being stirred mightily in my heart !! Appreciate all your prayers!! We need to place what God values and desires above our own and above the pressures of our day and age..
It was also a great blessing to take several hundred more dollars of canned food goods to yet another food pantry in Indiana. This was our second pantry effort in a month, both in Indiana. And of course the rockin revival with Shiloh and 7eventh Time Down brought souls into the Kingdom. Mikey even came over to say hello and sang on top of my chair..
Praise God for an amazing weekend of Ministry.....
I leave you with this word......

ask ourselves but one question: How much does my life resemble Jesus

of Christ. The true measure; the standard, is not other Christians or a
particular church.. It is Jesus Christ!!...... Thanks for all your

Busy in Indiana in August.
In The Month of August we were so blessed to donate several hundreds of dollars worth of food to the Christian Center Church food pantry in South Bend Indiana. We look forward to a continued relationship with pastor Al and this is our 21st year of supporting the Ministries of LeSea.....
We also enjoyed being a part of the Brian Free and Assurance concert event in Hamilton Indiana. We were able to give away several Bibles and pray for many facing tremendous needs. This group has really captured my heart and ear. my how you can sense the anointing in their music and ministry. The love they have for Jesus and the Local Church shine through brightly..
In My services this month I preached and taught alot on forgiveness and how it effects the anointing on our lives.. A person can be totally called but if their heart, attitude and order is not right, they will not be anointed to accomplish their task as they could be... Many of these messages will be airing over radio very soon..
Many of these powerfully anointed messages will also be edited and written out to post on the devotion and nuggets site linked on the right hand side of this blog. Please do avail yourself of this material as the Lord has spoken to me that 2017 will be a critical year for the body of Christ to get back into order and fulfill what is and always has been on Gods heart; The saving of Souls and making Disciples in the Local Church.... Keep watching for more updates on August and also future listings coming soon... God Bless..

Am I Called to the Pastoral Ministry?
I'm often asked, “How can I know if I am called to pastoral
ministry?” Here is a very quick checklist of questions I would want to
ask in any discussion about a call to the ministry.
1. Do you have a holy desire (1 Tim. 3:1)?
There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a pastor. In fact, when God calls a man, he usually implants a strong desire for the work in his heart. A holy desire for the pastoral ministry will be motivated by a passion for the glory of Christ and the salvation of precious souls. To a certain degree, every Christian should have these desires. But potential pastors should have them to an unusually high degree.
Sadly, many want to be pastors for unholy reasons: these include a love of books, an ambition to make a name for yourself, or wanting to become a Seminary professor. On that last point, I know there are exceptions, but I get quite worried when Seminary students start expressing a desire to be a teacher of pastors without having spent even a day in pastoral ministry.
2. Do you have a Christ-like character?
Do you have the fruits of the Spirit in your life (Gal. 5:22-24)? Do those who know you say that you are being conformed to the image of Christ? No one is strong in all areas of character. But if I was to give a top three of non-negotiable character traits, they would be (i) love, (ii) love, and (iii) love. Of course, holiness, integrity, patience, and wisdom are all vitally important too. But without a love-filled heart you will never be a shepherd of sheep.
3. Do you have spiritual maturity (1 Tim. 3:6)?
When young men are converted, they or others often start talking about the ministry. There are exceptions to this rule, but in general it is best that young men spend some time working as Christians “in the world” before pursuing a call to the ministry. They will develop spiritual maturity there in a way that they won't by going straight into Seminary. Even a few years of working among unconverted people has a rapid ripening effect on Christian character. It also helps to build empathy with Christians who are called to be salt and light in factories, offices, etc.
4. Do you have the necessary gifts (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)?
One of the most useful exercises I've given in my class on the Christian ministry was to ask the students to write up a job notice based on the characteristics and gifts found in the passages above. (Maybe I'll ask some of my students for permission to post their responses in a future blog.) I noticed that one of the recurring gifts in these lists is self-control, or self discipline. This is so utterly indispensable for time-management in pastoral ministry, when we have no boss or professor to keep us on track. If you have a record of being late for work or appointments, or if you are regularly late in submitting assignments, what reason is there to think that you are suddenly going to change when you have to preach a sermon every Sunday at 9.30 am?
Another vital gift is simplicity. Are you able to preach or teach simply? I'm not talking here about “dumbing-down.” I'm talking about taking profound truths and translating them into simple, clear language (as Jesus did). Some men seem to have the opposite gift, the ability to make the simple complicated and confusing. If that's your gift, then please don't burden the church of Christ with it.
5. Proven track record
This is related to (3) above. However, I want to make this a separate point to stress the importance of having proven oneself in “less public” forms of Christian service. If a young Christian man will not teach a children's Sunday school class, or won't join the “yard clean up team,” or excuses himself from the congregation's evangelism program, then he is not fit for the ministry of the Word. If he is not faithful in the “little” things, he is not ready for the “bigger” things.
6. External confirmation
Before pursuing the ministry, or studies for the ministry, you should seek input from your local church. You should ask your pastor and elders to examine you in points 1-5 above and give you their own more objective opinion of whether you have the marks of a man called to the ministry. You should seek their prayerful and practical support in going forward. If they express doubt or disapproval, you should usually view that as the voice of God speaking through His Church. However this is not always the case but rather a general guideline.
This list is not exhaustive, but it is a useful starting point for anyone wanting to examine and test their “call” to the pastoral ministry.

Today's Sleeping Giant By Leonard Ravenhill
Solemnly and slowly, with his index finger
extended, Napoleon Bonaparte outlined a great stretch of country on a
map of the world. "There," he growled, "is a sleeping giant. Let him
sleep! If he wakes, he will shake the world." That sleeping giant was
China. Today, Bonaparte's prophecy of some one hundred and fifty years
ago makes sense.
Today Lucifer is probably surveying the church just as Bonaparte did China. One can almost behold the fear in his eyes as he thinks of the Church's unmeasured potential and growls, "Let the Church sleep! If she wakes, she will shake the world." Is not the Church the sleeping giant of today?
Some years ago the newspaper headlines carried the story of a young Chinese student who "flunked" his exams here in America. So humiliated was he and so withered by anticipated scorn that for three years the youth hid in the belfry of a church and became skin and bones. Because of his shame, he froze in winter and blistered in summer under that church's thin roof. As today's Church of Jesus Christ thinks about the day of reckoning that is surely coming, oh that a holy fear would come upon her (even if it drives her to extremes) in order to arouse her from her present paralysis!
Consider Samson's fall. He didn't get drunk; he didn't commit murder; he didn't steal. Samson fell simply because he succumbed to the natural, and fell asleep.
That one small act put him into captivity,
made a false god popular,
and scattered the forces of the true and living God.
If even yet you feel a hangover of the old interpretation that the Samson of the Bible is a distant relative of Hercules or Atlas (famed in mythology for carrying the world on his back), then think again. Samson was no human monstrosity. He was no super-edition of a Goliath. If Samson had been a colossus, then why did Delilah ask the question, "Wherein lieth thy great strength?"
Let the final word be from the Word of God itself, for in telling the story of men mighty in faith, the writer to the Hebrews says: Time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson,... who through faith ... stopped the mouths of lions" (Heb. 11:32-33). Only two men in Scripture stopped the mouths of lions--Daniel and Samson. But no giant could single-handedly, as Samson, "put to flight the armies of the aliens," or toy with opposing armies.
Here, Samson slays a thousand men with the jawbone of an ass;
there, he kills another thirty men.
Here, he takes the gates of Gaza for a ride;
there, he tears a lion like paper.
To add insult to injury, the Spirit's comment is "he had nothing in his hand."
Note well, yea, read for yourself the whole story of the secret of this mighty exploiter, this more-than-conquering believer: "The Spirit of the Lord rested mightily upon him. " Everything in the story adds up to this staggering fact: Supernatural power was upon Samson.
Now turn back ten chapters in this wonder book of Judges and have a little peep into the life of Gideon. Surely as a boy, Gideon had heard from his father the hair-raising stories of a mighty Deity. In Judges 6, Gideon is older, and while threshing corn, is fearing an attack of the Midianites. For seven years, the once liberated slaves of Pharaoh had again become captives. Dens and caves were their homes. No longer were they able to sing the Lord's song.
It must have sounded like a fairy tale when that angel appeared to Gideon and informed him, "God is with thee, thou mighty man of valor." Yet he shot back the answer, "If God be with us, where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of?" This answer makes clear that Gideon was expecting some supernatural evidence. To him, the seal of the Lord's presence would be something that could not be rationalized.
Alas that today there is more evidence of religious sensation before our eyes than evidence of spiritual regeneration and supernatural phenomenon! Not many Christians today can forget the fact that the devil goeth about as a roaring lion, but we seem to have lost sight of the fact that the Lion of the tribe of Judah has defeated the roaring lion of hell, and therefore every anointed Samson or Gideon or church can also slay the lion of hell. Though wicked men are doing wickedly, God's promise to us is that "the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32).
This much is sure:
If we could merit revival by fasting, there would be many martyred by starving.
If we could organize revival, we would pool our thinking to outwit the powers of darkness.
If we could buy this elusive revival with the mammon of unrighteousness, we could get a score of what we call Christian millionaires to underwrite the thing for us.
If we could blast the devil from this present world, we would pledge the politicians for an atom bomb.
God pity us that after years of writing, using mountains of paper and rivers of ink, exhausting flashy terminology about the biggest revival meetings in history, we are still faced with gross corruption in every nation, as well as with the most prayerless church age since Pentecost.
This is a plea for the return of the supernatural; but I must also give this a word of explanation. For a decade, all over this land there has been a ministry of the miraculous (more or less), and thank God for all who honor Him and remain faithful. But having said that, here is a plea for sane thinking and a spiritual evaluation of the evangelistic field. To a large degree, have we not substituted seeing for hearing? In Acts, Philip the evangelist could have transferred the Ethiopian eunuch to a city seething with revival fever where the eunuch could have seen "the lame leap like an hart and the tongue of the dumb sing." Instead, he pitched right into the Word of the living God, and beginning at the same Scripture preached unto him Jesus. We need the miraculous but we also need Christ-centered teaching. Our crucified, exalted Christ must have preeminence over all other slants of truth, for while the Church is languishing, the world is perishing. "Awake, awake, put on strength, 0 arm of the Lord..." (Isaiah 51:9)
Again let me say, Samson's size was not the secret of his strength. The fact that he was the same size after he backslid negates the idea that he was a giant. His only external peculiarity was his long locks, uncut because he was a Nazarite. Nor had his long hair in itself any abnormal power. Samson's secret was obedience. As long as Samson trod the straight and narrow path of obedience, he was invincible.
Let us remember, too, that Samson, who began in the Spirit, fell into the flesh, and so had a prison term to bring him to his senses. Finally, by one last mighty miracle, he finished in the Spirit. Backslider, this is a word for your recovery, for God can restore the years that the cankerworm and the caterpillar have eaten. He who is able delights in mercy.
Samson's final act of power was the crowning achievement of a spectacular life s work. After he had slipped out from under the harness of obedience, he was forced into separation from the world in a prison. Once an army trembled at his very sight; later a single boy came to lead the blinded Samson into the temple of Dragon, the fish-god. How the mighty had fallen! Yet now, God took this "weak thing" into a temple full of lords of the Philistines and set him between the pillars. "Samson took hold of the pillars ... the one with his right hand and the other with his left ... and he bowed himself with all His might" (judges 16:29-30) Holy jealousy gripped him. Mighty as he had been in other things, Samson now proved mightiest in prayer: "Lord, strengthen me ... this once!' (vs. 28) Would to God that every professed believer in the whole of Christendom would borrow this prayer and mean it. Then with dramatic conclusion, Samson sealed the doom of many more of the enemies of God in his dying than in his living.
Is this the dying hour of this dispensation? Many say it is. Some Christians have already hung their harps on the willows, and yet others seem to delight in speaking of the Church's present lapse as a proof of divine inspiration. But I myself believe that if the Church will only obey the conditions, she can have a revival any time she wants it. The problem of the Church is the problem in the garden of Gethsemane-sleep! For while men sleep, the enemy, sows his seed through his cults. Lest men sleep the sleep of eternal death, 0h arm of the Lord, 0h Church of the living God, awake!
If the church is going to attain to her potential in this last hour, it is apparent that we are going to have to dust off an old word that many of us have forgotten is in the English language -- DISCIPLINE! To some, this word discipline will have a monastic flavor, for it smells of the Middle Ages or throws onto the screen of the mind a picture of an unwashed hermit or a hollow-eyed anchorite. Be not deceived. Every smart "top brass military expert has arrived there because he wore the harness of discipline. Leonard Bernstein in his music-talks holds his baton like a magic wand over mesmerized million because of discipline. This brings to mind the words of the poet:
The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward through the night!
If any man wants to write a bestseller, let him attempt a book on How to be a Saint in Six Easy Lessons. Such a writer would be fishing with bait that this generation of believers wants; but I, for one, would not swallow it.
In a brilliant sermon called "Discipleship," G. Cambell Morgan says, "Jesus Christ could speak to the sorrow-burdened heart of humanity words so full of mother-love and father-love as to make men crowd and press round Him. On the other hand, He could suddenly speak words that flashed and scorched and burned until men drew back in astonishment." Bracketed in the last group would be these two commands: "Take my yoke upon you" and "My disciple, take up your cross and follow me." Both of these words imply discipline.
When we sing in a sunlit church "Oh to be like Thee; Oh to be like Thee," we get weepy and feel an emotional lift. But permit this simple challenge:
Do we really mean 'Oh to be like Thee' -- like the Christ of God, who was a man of discipline?
Do we really mean 'Oh to be like Thee' -- fasting alone in the desert?
Do we mean 'Oh to be like Thee' to touch the depths of prayer that make us cry, 'All Thy billows are gone over me.'
Do we mean 'Oh to be like Thee' -- to become habituates of the fastness of the prayer chamber?
Do we mean 'Oh to be like Thee' -- in a will like His, for He said,
"I always do the will of my Father." Is that not discipline?
The religious sentimentalist who sings "Just a closer walk with Thee" but walks close to the ungodly and sits with the blasphemers, is not taken seriously in either heaven or hell. Be very sure, friend, that this vile world is not "a friend to grace to help on to God." We need to pray the Father to put some blood into this "water" that runs through our veins. Our Simon-like natures need the Upper Room fire to clean us out and the discipline of the Spirit to shape us into soldiers.
Twenty-five years of discipline in a crow's nest of an office up behind his church in Chicago brought about a Dr. A. W. Tozer, who produced a book, The Pursuit of God. This in turn produced on the ocean of spiritual teaching waves that lap their way to the ends of the earth.
After I spoke at a session in the Bible School of Wales, Mrs. Rees Howells called me for a private talk. We stood on the veranda of her home overlooking beautiful Swansea Bay I can see her finger upheld as she said, "Many talk of my husband's buying this place with a shilling (fourteen cents) in his pocket. What they forget is that he prayed twelve hours a day for eleven months to know the mind of God." Brethren, that's discipline!
Today, immediately when one gets out of step with a nearby Christian, he is considered a legalist. Just remember, in "that great day of Judgment" when we must an stand before His throne, no man will be ashamed he was dubbed over-spiritual, though many will weep, groan, and "suffer loss" because of lack of discipline. Discipline is a harness by which we enable the Spirit to get the best out of our frail humanity. The Apostle Paul was a disciplinarian like his Master:
He disciplined his body: "I keep my body under."
He disciplined himself to loneliness: "All men forsook me."
He disciplined himself to scorn: "We are fools for Christ's sake."
He disciplined himself to poverty: "We suffered need."
He disciplined himself to rejection: "We are despised."
He disciplined himself to death: "I die daily."
He disciplined himself to suffering: "Persecuted, but not forsaken."
May this be our prayer, "Oh Lord, I bow my neck to Thy yoke!"
Since the hour Adam first rose to his feet, man has not stood, as today, between such potential and such peril. America is still the richest nation in the world. It is a mighty crucible into which refugees of almost all modern nations are poured. It has far more Bible schools than any other nation. In these Bible schools is dedicated manpower. Here, too, is wealth to get this manpower to the ends of the earth, and here is linguistic ability unmatched in the annals of time.
Even the gathering at Pentecost had not the potential, humanly speaking, that this vast nation has. Do you wonder, then, that from every angle, hell has America under cross fire? This mighty land is cursed with blessings . I fear that unless she awakens, repents, and puts on the whole armor, of God, she will be blessed with cursings. Already other nations are in the slavery of oppression. Can America and Britain long remain free? Unless we are to have the war of wars that will usher us into the night Of nights and the judgment of judgments, we must have the revival of revivals. Pale, pathetic, palliating preaching must be driven from the church like the idols it promotes. It is time for the church to cry again, "Where is the God of Elijah?"
Ambrose Fleming called the resurrection of Jesus Christ "the best attested fact in history" Yet at Easter time, vain effort is made to rationalize the stupendous event of the Resurrection in order to try to save face before pseudo-intellectualism, which boggles at the fact that the Lord of glory died and rose again, triumphant over death, over hell, and over the grave. Who, then, can dispute the following biting statements of Murdo MacDonald in his book, The Vitality of Faith: "Ever since the Renaissance, men have been trying to water down the Christian creed. Give us a religion purged of everything that defies logic, a religion stripped of the supernatural and emptied of miracle, a religion that is smooth and palatable and rationally acceptable-this has been the popular cry" Surely the church, weak in heart and courage, has gone out of the way to oblige.
The doom of this decaying civilization is spelled out in our crowded divorce courts, our all-time high of alcoholics and drug addicts, the number of illegitimate births or the number of abortions. A Gallup poll shows that these days most people accept lying as part of everyday business. Virtue is scorned.
Truth lies fallen in the street!
Somewhere in the archives of the British Admiralty at Whitehall, London, they have the record of a fine piece of maritime strategy. Ships of five nations were anchored in a bay in the South Pacific. A fierce storm was gathering offshore. The British captain decided to run, not away from the storm but into it. Everything available was battened down. Out crashed the ship into the boiling seas-pitching, tossing, rolling, and shuddering. Indeed, she did everything but go down. A couple of days later, buffeted but not broken, she returned to the port to find the ships of the other nations piled up on the beach.
The storm of the ages is about to break. Let the church call its crew to a new dedication. Remembering that Christ is at the helm, and with Christ's Crest as our ensign, let us run into the storm. After the storm, we, too, shall return-to see upon the shores of time the battered, piled, wrecked, hell-inspired ideologies of the hour.
Here, Samson slays a thousand men with the jawbone of an ass;
there, he kills another thirty men.
Here, he takes the gates of Gaza for a ride;
there, he tears a lion like paper.
Are you really called into full time ministry (5 Fold) Question and Answer with Erwin Lutzer
Q: What wisdom can you suggest for a 20-year-old man who wonders if he’s been “called” to full-time ministry?
I’m looking for things related both to determining if one is called, as well as to preparation for ministry.Asked by: Mike
A: Well Mike, I think it’s wonderful that you, as a 20-year-old, are beginning to think about these things.
And let me simply say that the call of God that you refer to has several elements.First of all, it has an inward compulsion. There is something within you, if you are called to the ministry, that tells you that your destiny lies beyond other vocations, at least I felt that. But along with that, and this is very critical, it has to be confirmed by the body of Christ.
You know, there’s that old line that says that there are some people called to preach, but apparently nobody is called to listen. They simply don’t have the gifts for ministry; God didn’t cut them out for ministry, but they want to do ministry and they think that they are called. Or, perhaps, they want to do ministry because they see it as an opportunity for self-growth and self-aggrandizement. Sometimes ministers get an awful lot of attention, and so because of that, they may not be called at all, but they’re doing ministry for the attention.
So, first of all, you have to have that inward sense that God might be leading you in this direction. Secondly, it has to be confirmed by the body of Jesus Christ, and third, it has to be confirmed by His Word. Because when you get to qualifications for ministry, character is absolutely essential. And so the spiritual leaders around you will help you determine that.
But you know Mike, one of the things that I’ve discovered is that God calls people differently. Sometimes He calls them in their youth; I felt that way when I was growing up. But there are others who perhaps are 30 or 40 years old and suddenly they have this compulsion, this desire that they are called to preach, that they are called to minister. And God is very creative. He speaks to us in different ways, and in different circumstances, but the bottom line is always that there is a growing conviction and this is what we should follow.
Finally, you also ask about how you can prepare for ministry. Well there are others who can give you much better counsel than I can, but make sure you get a good education, attend a good seminary, if God is leading you in that direction. I trust that in 10 or 15 years from now, the blessing of God, the benediction and anointing of God, will be upon you.
This was a question and answer by Pastor Erwin Lutzer of Moody Church. I personally think he nailed it..

My May Nuggets From FB..
I don't believe the Lord calls us to see how many seats we can fill by
creating a 'club feel' on Sunday and endeavoring to attract the
unbelievers by such a watered down version of the message that they
never get confronted by the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Without
preaching the gospel found in the bible, without a call to repent from
sin, without an explanation of the Blood of Christ and the new life it
gives, how will anyone be forgiven and how will their lives be
transformed?? Changed lives are what matters to God... Not numbers and
for 2000 years the goal of Christianity has never been to put on a good
show!!
Our goal in the church should not be to be popular with all the people. If we are unfaithful to God then we contribute to the moral blight on the Nation. Our first and foremost order of business must be faithfully serving God in love and obedience.. Sometimes this will put us at odds with the culture and the very religious as well.
I truly believe we need to man up and be ready to confront the hostile reactions that may occur when we proclaim the Real Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church needs to stop doling out prepackaged "Christianity Lite" spiritual candy and begin to boldly proclaim truth in a culture so obviously devoid of Gospel truth.
Instead of trying to sound and appear super spiritual just spend your life trying to be like Jesus and let God work out all the details. Expect God to continually change you and He will. Put your faith on being conformed to the image of Christ and the results of the Holy Spirit will be amazing... Happy Lords day saints!! Please, if possible, go to church this Sunday! Love you!
Here is a word God gave me while preaching a message on America and the Cup of Iniquity.... Let us not be so arrogant to think that because God loves us so much He won't judge us for sins that He destroyed empires of the past over!! Men with men, women with women, and the offering of babies to Baal, etc... My God America WAKE UP AND REPENT BEFORE THE CUP OF INIQUITY IS FULL OR YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A JER. 7:16 and HOSEA 4:1-6 MOMENT!!!
Just like car worketh by gas; no gas, car won't work! U r goin nowhere! So too, Faith worketh by love (Gal 5:6b) no love, faith goes nowhere. You may be believing God for many things and may truly not doubt His word but if you have allowed bitterness a place in your heart, you won't forgive, you treat others as beneath you, gossip and slander dominate your conversation; etc(lack of love) YOUR FAITH WONT WORK!! Repent if you need to cause its Gods good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Faith worketh by love. We get that straight and miracles once again can flow to and through us!!

Repent if you need to cause its Gods good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Faith worketh by love. We get that straight and miracles once again can flow to and through us!!
We
are called of God , in the world but not of the world, set apart unto
God.... We are called to live Holy lives by the power of the Holy
Spirit. When a believer lives and partakes of the same things , beggarly
elements, that has millions of people in bondage, it brings dishonor to
the savior.. It's time to return to the Altar and pursue Holy living..
Anyone out there say Amen!!
If Loving Jesus were a crime, I'd be an outlaw.... Come on and join the
fight... Our poor world is in trouble. Lets tell the truth of Gods Love
together. The only way to be saved; the only hope for the world is JESUS
CHRIST.... I will not be ashamed of that precious Name..This is the
battle of the Ages my friends.... Lets do this together...Its time to
lay everything on the line for the Name of Jesus.... We have nothing to
lose and Heaven to gain.. Don't be afraid!! We must be bold... Its
almost home time!!
