Some Thoughts On Death
Though
the kingdom of God has been inaugurated in the Person and work of Jesus Christ,
the kingdom has not yet come in all its fullness. Consequently, life in this period
of “already” and “not yet” is complex and multifaceted. Though we rejoice in Christ’s
victory, we continue to experience tragedy and death. While we mourn the loss
of friends and loved ones, we know that, because Christ has defeated death, our
sorrow will one day turn to joy.
1 Corinthians 15:20–26
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
If then our future bodies are to retain the human form, to be easily distinguished by those who knew and loved us on earth; if they are to be endued with an unknown power; if they are to be incorruptible, immortal, and spiritual; if we are to bear the image of the heavenly, we may well bow down with humble and joyful hearts and receive the exhortation of the Apostle: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” —Charles Hodge

A quote by Spurgeon on Suffering
We are told that the Captain of our salvation was made
perfect through suffering, therefore we who are sinful, and who are far from
being perfect, must not wonder if we are called to pass through suffering too.
Shall the head be crowned with thorns, and shall the other members of the body
be rocked upon the dainty lap of ease? Must Christ pass through seas of his own
blood to win the crown, and are we to walk to heaven dryshod in silver slippers?
No, our Master’s experience teaches us that suffering is necessary, and the
true-born child of God must not, would not, escape it if he might.
—Charles Spurgeon
The term “sanctification” is a common buzzword in many Christian circles, and it is rightly associated with the teaching that Christ’s disciples are being made holy by the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. However, we must not limit ourselves to a merely abstract and cognitive understanding of this doctrine. Rather, God’s Word calls us to recognize that sanctification is a present reality in our daily experiences. Whenever we encounter hardship and opposition in life, we can rest in the assurance that God’s Spirit is working through it to make us more like Jesus Christ.

New Message Of The Month Club Coming In Jan. 2015
Beginning in Jan. 2015 we will be starting our brand new CD message of the month club for supporters of the ministry in the USA only at this time... For a minimum gift of $15 or more you can receive 12 of the top ministry messages at the rate of one per month. This is the first time we have done a message club in many years and we are very excited at the number of people already pre enrolled. It is a great way to help us with all of our missions and at the same time, get a message each month to listen to and share. If you prefer you can pre enroll for a year at a time with a gift of $100 or more all at once... The club membership is different than our monthly partnership program though a good number of monthly supporters have increased their monthly giving to get in on this new Message club.
We certainly appreciate everything given to this world wide , soul winning ministry. It is our desire to be a blessing to you.
After leading a cottage service (we do a good number of these) in the Bear Lake area this past Sunday I stopped by my Mom and Dads grave on the way home. My Mom in her final days asked me hundreds of times to tell people how important it is for them to spend time in God's Word.... I believe that 2015 will represent, at least for some, a return to rightly dividing the Word in their lives and sitting in a posture of worship at the feet of Jesus.... Thats where strength is folks..... If there is anything that we can do to assist you in your study of the Word please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at office@acts2618.com
Also please note that we have added several links on the right hand side of this blog where you can also find some excellent Bible study tools and aids as well as several translations of the Bible. These sites have been a huge blessing in our own personal study of the Word of God..
We love you all and will continue to keep you posted on where we will be and what we are doing and again, THANK YOU for partnering with us...
